Dornoch, 1727
Dornoch parish covers 53 square miles. During the 18th century, it was a small, rural town. Unfortunately, there is not much evidence from this period of time. Most things that have been found are dull and mundane. The area's history is rather disjointed, characterized by periods of inactivity interrupted by short bursts of interest and importance. One of few important events in 18th century Dornoch was the burning of Janet Horne in 1727.
